Marking World Refugee Day
08 August 2026
This year JRS Kosovo decided to mark the world refugee day together with asylum seekers, community members of Magure village and reps of Ministry of Interior Affairs by visiting some natural beauties of Kosovo.
In collaboration with Asylum Seekers Center and CRPK NGO we organized an escursion in Peja to visit the Drini Waterfall and after that we spent time together socializing, having qualitative conversations which make us understand that refugees are a real asset to our society and tasting traditional Kosovar food.
Through this one day activity we wanted to show refugees they are not alone and in the same time to show community members that each refugee is a unique human being.
At the same time we continued to work and offer the regular services we have in place such as medical assistance, distributing vouchers for food and non food items, social activities, and economic empowerement for refugees and repatriated women and girls.
During June JRS Kosovo has been supporting 17 asylum seekers; 2 detainees and 30 persons with International Protection.
