Football Tournament with Asylum Seekers

On 25 November 2021 , JRS Kosovo in cooperation with CRP/K (Civil Rights Programe/Kosovo) organized a Football Tournament with Asylum Seekers, staff of the Asylum Seekers Center and Magura community members aiming to contribute in building social networks and combat social exclusion of asylum seekers in Kosovo. Four football teams were composed with the asylum seekers and the representatives of the Magura village where two matches were played with two first teams while at the end the Final Match between the 2 winners. Among the participants there were also present the representative of the Magura village and the Head of the Asylum Seekers Centre who submitted the cup to the winning team accordingly. All participants celebrated together with the winning team.The representative of Magura village expressed his gratitude for organization of this activity where asylum seekers and the Magura residents were brought together and had a great day together. Such activities are very welcomed by the community ,as the Magura representative stated.

Because of the success of this activity, in collaboration with the director of the Asylum Seekers Center the Football Tournament will become a tradition within the center and it will expand the number of stakeholders invited to play with asylum seekers.
